Faculty Freshmen Trip to Makó

Becoming one with nature, listening to the sound of the river Maros – 5 October 2019.

To motivate the newly arrived students to learn about Hungarian culture and traditions, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration together with its GTK mentor team organized the traditional faculty trip on 5th October. The excursion consisted of interesting activities, including a visit to the József Attila Museum and a hiking park in the small town of Makó.

The group got the opportunity to enjoy the tranquility of Makó’s center and also its riverside woods as one happy community. The feeling of becoming one with nature let the participants take their mind off the stress of studying for a little while. At Makó’s famous treetop walkway our fellow students got the pleasure of watching the calmly flowing river Maros among the shadows of huge green trees.

After all these impressive events, mentors and a group of more than 40 international students continued with playing various community building games, such as “Untangle the Tangled” and “Truth and Lies”. In these events we motivated one another to act as a team, to be capable of connecting with others, and to make some new friends. Moreover, the whole mentor team and the newcomers formed a friendly, strong bond among themselves; we as a whole crew look forward to organizing another nice event in order to bring us all together again. The Faculty excursion to Makó was concluded with “GTK edition” raffle: all winners were awarded memorial prizes related to Hungarian culture.
