Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Holders Honoured with Excellence Award

Tempus Public Foundation organized a Welcome event at the Park Inn Hotel in Budapest on 20 November 2023 to welcome the freshmen students in Hungary and to give awards of excellence to upper year students.

One of the students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration was nominated for excellence award and along with him, freshmen students were also selected to represent the University of Szeged. Students from all Hungarian universities were invited to the Stipendium Hungaricum Welcome event to socialize, attend the ceremony and participate in cultural programmes.

Miklós Lengyel, Deputy Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade hold a welcome speech, followed by a speech by Gábor Dobos, Director of Tempus Public Foundation. At the award ceremony, the Excellence Award was presented to Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship holders who have achieved outstanding study achievements and made a significant contribution to the development of the Stipendium Hungaricum community. The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration is proud that Shehroz Tariq, student of our Business Administration and Management BSc study programme won the excellence award.

In the afternoon workshops, international students could enjoy a Hungarian folk dance performance, shared their thoughts on cultural differences and similarities and they also met the officials from their respective countries to give them a review after the arrival in Hungary.

The University of Szeged’s Faculty of Economics and Business Administration recently hosted its International Cultural Gala, a distinguished highlight among a series of events commemorating the Faculty’s 25th anniversary. Coordinated by Dr. Ildikó Pusztai-Varga, Director of International Affairs, and Melinda Kovács, International Relations Coordinator with the help of the head mentors team, this special event welcomed guests and showcased the faculty’s global connections and diverse community. Held at the Albert Szent-Györgyi Agora, a cultural and social hub in Szeged, students and faculty members gathered to enjoy music, performances, and cuisine from over a dozen countries, each representing the rich diversity within the university.
