EMOK International Conference was held at our Faculty

The International Conference of the Association for Marketing Education and Research was held at the University of Szeged between 23 and 25 August 2023. This was the third time since the inception of the conference series that our university has hosted national and international actors in marketing education and research.

The conference was entitled "Resilient Marketing - Responses to everchanging challenges", as today's business decisions and our daily lives are facing significant challenges from rapidly changing environmental factors. The ability to react and recover quickly has become a key competence today, whether in the consumer, business or non-business sectors.

Speakers presented their research on topics such as marketing strategy, digital marketing, food marketing and innovation marketing.

On day zero of the conference, the PhD forum provided an opportunity for doctoral students to present their research. It was here that Beata Sikó, a PhD student from our faculty, presented her research and was awarded the "Most promising PhD presentation" prize at the end of the conference. Congratulations to her!

In addition to the plenary and session presentations, the conference traditionally also hosted the EMOK Teaching Methodology Workshop, where participants could learn about the work of the EMOK Innovative Marketing Course competition. In addition, a number of other workshops were also open to the public, such as the Higher Education or Artificial Intelligence in Marketing workshops, where discussions on the topic were held in an informal setting.

In addition to the presentations and workshops, there were of course other activities for participants, such as the GIF maker, which was open throughout the conference, and the gala dinner at the end of the first day.

We continued our tradition of welcoming our newly admitted students to the University of Szeged’s Faculty of Business Administration and Management.

Under the guidance of Dr. Ildikó Pusztai-Varga, Director of International Affairs, and Melinda Kovács, International Relations Coordinator, the mentor team worked hard to make the freshmen’s transition as smooth as possible. The programs not only helped students become familiar with Szeged and university life but also strengthened the growing sense of community between mentors and first-year students.
