Cooperation agreement with Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia

On 5 December 2023, the University of Szeged signed a cooperation agreement with the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.

The personal meeting in Szeged was preceded by online discussions, during which the parties introduced their study programmes and agreed to promote the teacher and student mobility between the two universities, as well as joint developments in the field of education and research.


The Indonesian delegation was received in the building of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration by Dr. Péter Kovács, Dean of the Faculty and Dr. Ildikó Pusztai-Varga, Director of International Affairs. In addition to the representatives of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, the Minister Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia, Ifan Mahdiyat Sofiana, and Yudhi Gunawan, Deputy Head of the Department of Information and Social Culture, visited the university. During the meeting, the parties agreed that Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia will offer internship opportunities in Indonesia for students of the Tourism and Catering BSc programme of the University of Szeged. Several faculty members of the University of Szeged have been invited as members in the editorial board of the university's journal, and Dr. Péter Kovács, Dean of the Faculty, has been invited to speak at a conference to be organised by the university in August 2024.

At the end of the programme, Prof. Dr. Péter Zakar, Vice Rector for International and Public Relations, and the Indonesian party signed the cooperation agreement.

Held at the Albert Szent-Györgyi Agora, a cultural and social hub in Szeged, students and faculty members gathered to enjoy music, performances, and cuisine from over a dozen countries, each representing the rich diversity within the university.
