International Week 2022

International Week at Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the University of Szeged

The International Week event has become a tradition at the SZTE GTK as it will held for the 14th time this year.

The particular aim of the programme is to provide our students – both international and Hungarian – with the opportunity to listen to courses delivered by visiting lecturers from our partner institutions, at the same time strengthening already existing, as well as preparing and designing new collaborations in teaching, research and project activities between our institutions.

Date of the International Week:

04.04-04.08. 2022

Our guests are invited to participate in the following programmes:

  1. Mini-courses held in the training programmes of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (5-7 April, 2022)
The basic aim of the programme is to convey academic experience for Hungarian and international students. Each mini course includes 6 teaching hours.
  2. Workshop I: Engaging Students in University Classes: flipped classroom (5 April, 2022)
In university classes, we often meet the challenges of engaging students and providing them practical knowledge. It is difficult to find the balance between practice and theory. In this workshop, we introduce a method, namely flipped classroom as an example, with the help of which the interactivity in classroom can be enhanced. Flipped classroom enables that a lecturer appears as a facilitator in the classroom. In the workshop, we discuss its advantages and shortages in an interactive form.
  3. Workshop II: Organizational Change towards Responsibility and Equity (6 April, 2022)
Ethics, responsibility, sustainability and community engagement are of high importance for 21st century universities. However, improving in these fields and integrating them into the everyday operation are still vastly challenging. The present workshop aims to share good practices (regarding both teaching and research) in this field and discuss challenges of organizational transformation. It focuses on two main issues: (1) equality and diversity and (2) university community engagement; but the workshop is open for discussing further related topics.
  4. Social activities of various kinds

We continued our tradition of welcoming our newly admitted students to the University of Szeged’s Faculty of Business Administration and Management.

Under the guidance of Dr. Ildikó Pusztai-Varga, Director of International Affairs, and Melinda Kovács, International Relations Coordinator, the mentor team worked hard to make the freshmen’s transition as smooth as possible. The programs not only helped students become familiar with Szeged and university life but also strengthened the growing sense of community between mentors and first-year students.
