On January 30, 2026, the University of Szeged held a ceremonial doctoral session at the József Attila Study and Information Center, where a total of 10 habilitated doctoral degrees and 112 PhD degrees were awarded.
The diplomas were presented by Prof. Dr. Klára Gellén, Vice-Rector for Education, Prof. Dr. Zoltán Gyenge, Chair of the University Doctoral Council, and Prof. Dr. Attila Gácser, Chair of the University Habilitation Committee, in the presence of the Inauguration Council.
The members of the Inauguration Council were:

Dr. Zoltán Gyenge, Chair of the Doctoral Council of the University of Szeged;

Dr. Norbert Merkovity, Inaugural Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences;

Dr. Mariann Fekete, Inaugural Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences;

Dr. Benedek Nagy, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration;

Dr. Zsolt Szakonyi, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy;

Dr. József Maléth, Inaugural Dean of the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School;

Dr. Tamás Papp, inaugural dean of the Faculty of Science and Informatics.
During the ceremony, the following lecturers affiliated with the Faculty of Economics were
awarded habilitation degrees and granted the right to give independent university lectures in their respective fields of study:

- Dr. habil. Sarolta Somosi
The following GTK doctoral students were
awarded PhD degrees and accepted as doctors by the Inauguration Council:

- Dr. Somayeh Sedighi

- Dr. Janka Tóth
