The Faculty of Economics will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2024, which provides a good opportunity to this initiative.

There is a tree in Szeged with deep roots, a solid trunk, spreading branches, beautiful flowers and ripe fruits. This tree is the University of Szeged, its Faculty of Economics, and its members, current and former students, and our colleagues. This tree connects us all. We all know this tree very well, we are part of it, it is us.

After graduation, the fresh graduates disperse, and everyone lives and builds their own lives. We no longer recognize our old fellow students, we don't know who else were studying at the university with us, and where they are currently, what they have achieved, where they are using the knowledge they have acquired here.

So we set ourselves the goal of organizing our former and current students and colleagues into a bouquet, to form an active and meaningful community.

The SZTE Alma Mater website can be the water that nourishes this bouquet. In addition to the GTK website, we share up-to-date information and current events on this page, and this page is also suitable for our current and former students and colleagues to connect and network.

The Faculty of Economics will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2024, which provides a good opportunity to this initiative. This jubilee year will offer numerous programs that may be of interest to all members of the GTK Alma mater.

We continued our tradition of welcoming our newly admitted students to the University of Szeged’s Faculty of Business Administration and Management.

Under the guidance of Dr. Ildikó Pusztai-Varga, Director of International Affairs, and Melinda Kovács, International Relations Coordinator, the mentor team worked hard to make the freshmen’s transition as smooth as possible. The programs not only helped students become familiar with Szeged and university life but also strengthened the growing sense of community between mentors and first-year students.
