On 5 December 2023, the University of Szeged signed a cooperation agreement with the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia.

In a delightful fusion of cultures, the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) at the University of Szeged recently hosted a vibrant event known as SZEDAP (Szeged’s Indonesian Eating Party).

In May of this year (2023), we held the local round of the European Ethics Bowl (EEB) international debate competition, where five teams debated "Ethics in Sport" to advance.

The tradition of holding events for newly-admitted GTK students continued on for this year as well, where a series of programmes was organized for the freshmen to get to know Szeged and the university. With the organization of the mentor team, led by Dr. Ildikó Pusztai-Varga, Director of International Affairs, and Melinda Kovács, International Relations Coordinator, the Faculty was able to hold a variety of events for the international students.

We are pleased to announce that the article 'Urban Agglomeration and Income Inequality: Is Kuznets Hypothesis Valid for Sub Saharan Africa?' by Isaiah Maket, Izabella Szakálné Kanó and Zsófia Vas has been published in the prestigious international journal Social Indicators Research (springer.com). This journal is Q1 in the Social Sciences discipline of Scimago, with an H-index of 126.

The Central Bank of Hungary announces a scholarship opportunity for Bachelor and Master students.

This is the third year that the University of Szeged hosts exchange students from Indonesia. All together there are 39 IISMA awardees this year, 11 students studying at our Faculty. While being here, they would like to promote Indonesia and its culture.

27 June- 07 July 2023, marked an immersive experience for three students of our faculty, Adam Rodic, Zsombor Szekely, and Khushi Nigam at the European Investment Bank (EIB). It was an honor to attend the EIB Summer School 2023 alongside more than 70 students from the leading European Universities.

The International Conference of the Association for Marketing Education and Research was held at the University of Szeged between 23 and 25 August 2023. This was the third time since the inception of the conference series that our university has hosted national and international actors in marketing education and research.

The SZTE Prezilimpia 2023 presentation competition was organized in the spring semester by the SZTE Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, the SZTE Junior Academy and the Ezabeszéd Toastmasters Rhetoric Club in Szeged, in cooperation with Philip Morris Hungary.

The two INEB students, Kokoti Perez and Nigam Khushi, from the University got the opportunity to participate as delegates of Canada and Morroco in the Model WTO Conference of this year.

On 19th April the Faculty organised the faculty round of the European Ethics Bowl (EEB), international debate competition, which was also the first national EEB competition and a qualifier for semifinals in Slovenia in autumn.
