As the new academic year approaches, new international students are preparing for their exciting move to Szeged and to our Faculty. While it's an amazing adventure, it can also be overwhelming and full of questions.

Think back to your own first days at university—or even your first days in a new country. Having someone to ask for advice, share experiences with, or simply chat to can make all the difference. That's exactly what our Faculty Mentor Programme is about.

As a mentor, you will:

• Keep in touch with one or more new students via email or WhatsApp during the summer.
• Help them feel welcome and answer their questions before they arrive.
• Assist them during the first days of September with administration and finding their way around the city.
• If you're a Hungarian student, you can also share practical tips about everyday life in Hungary—transportation, shopping, prices, and much more.

Programme period: mid-July – the end of September 2026

As part of the programme, you'll also:

• Join the Faculty Orientation Day on 10 September
• Be invited to our Mentor Picnic in August
• Take part in a special Hungarian cultural programme in September
