Double Degree

The University of Szeged, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration signed a Double Degree programme agreement with the University of Warsaw, Faculty of Management in 2021.

Both Institutions will simultaneously grant a Master’s degree:

  • International Business Program (IBP) offered at the Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw, and
  • International Economy and Business (INEB) offered at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration, University of Szeged.

The application is open for Hungarian Master students and tuition fee paying international Master students of the International Economy and Business MSc programme, with a Bachelor’s degree (min. 180 ECTS) with at least 60 ECTS in courses on management and/or economics. The call for application will be announced in every academic year (February) in Coospace.

Students complete semester 1 and 2 at their home university (INEB students in the University of Szeged) and semesters 3 and 4 at the host Institution (University of Warsaw). During the first year students are enrolled only at their home university, while during their second year they are also enrolled at the host university, thus have the chance to spend one academic year in Warsaw and earn another Master’s degree. Students shall not pay any enrolment fee or other taxes to the host University.

In order to satisfy the minimum ministerial study curriculum, set by the Hungarian University system, students participating in the Double Degree Program (both Hungarian and international), must acquire the following number of ECTS throughout the two-year program:

  • 25 ECTS in the compulsory courses of the economical, methodological basic module (Economics and Statistics),
  • 35 ECTS in the compulsory courses of the programme-specific module (International Economy and Business),
  • minimum 37 ECTS in the elective courses of the programme-specific module (International Business and Management),
  • minimum 8 ECTS in the free elective module,
  • 16 (students from FoM UW) or 15 (students from FEBA SZTE) ECTS from the thesis module.

In order to satisfy the minimum ministerial study curriculum, set by the Polish University system, students participating in the Double Degree Program (both Polish and international), must acquire the following number of ECTS throughout the two-year program:

  • at least 60 of ECTS in the courses from the management and quality,
  • at least 5 ECTS in the courses from the field of humanities,
  • at least 30% of the courses are electable.

Students participating in the Double Degree Program have to write a Master thesis.

  1. The thesis will be supervised by two representatives of academic staff from both home and host universities.
  2. The Master thesis shall be defended before an examination board including both supervisors and other members of the board as per institutional regulations.
